Yesterday my dentist said my teeth look great. No cavities, no sign of gum disease. It was a great checkup.
But right before I was ready to leave his office, he asked me if I had ever considered having my teeth whitened. I told him, no – I hadn’t thought my teeth were in need of whitening. To be honest, I was a little offended – but I didn’t think anything of it. Until I got home and looked in the mirror.
Then, I realized that my teeth DO look a little yellow. And everyone else’s teeth are so very white. Maybe all those mornings of a hot cup of coffee have taken their toll.
So, are my teeth really yellow and in need of teeth whitneing? Or are they OK and I’m just over reacting to my dentist’s suggestion?

My closet has gotten so depressing. Nothing fits, everything is stained or torn or wrinkled or too loose or missing a button. It’s awful. I just need to make up my mind it is time for new clothes and go out there and buy them. I will start with a new pair of jeans. I wants something that looks nice and fits well. But no mom jeans. I want jeans that make my hubby say, wow!

What is it about that doctor on Grey’s Anatomy? Everyone calls him Dr. McDreamy. Do real doctors have those eyes and special look of compassion and understanding? If so, their patients are very lucky. My doctors have always been weird old men who are in a hurry and barely look me in the eye – they are too busy looking at my file folder or writing prescriptions out on the padded forms. I wish I had a Dr. McDreamy just once.

Today is the first day in a week that I’ve been able to get a good night’s sleep, wake up without the alarm clock and have a little bit of time to myself. Christmas is wonderful but it sure is exhausting. The kids are enjoying their time off from school – they get to play with their Christmas presents and play outside with the kids in the neighborhood.
Today I am using up the last of the leftovers from the big Christmas dinner and starting to plan our New Year’s Eve celebration. We were not able to find a babysitter for New Year’s Eve, so I am thinking about inviting a few people over to celebrate with us here, and they are welcome to bring their children along. It will be a family friendly New Year’s Eve.
