The $25,000 Dessert
Did you hear that there is a restaurant in New York that offers a $25,000 dessert? It comes in a huge bowl with a gold or silver spoon. I can’t remember what they said exactly I was stuck on the price and the rest went right over my head. They showed 2 people eating it and it looked delicious. Neither one of them could finish the whole thing. It looked like ice cream and about 6 or 7 different chocolate flavors were added on top. Gold confetti was put on top too along with whipped cream. I don’t know about you but I’m getting hungry.
It’s unbelievable to me that someone would spend that kind of money on food. $25,000 is a lot of money. That is about the average yearly salary for a lot of Americans. For example, teachers make about that much in a year. Retail stores, nonprofit organizations, receptionists, etc. all fit in that salary range as well. Now I feel a little better I’m not the only one that will never taste a $25,000 dessert. In fact if I had that kind of money I don’t think I’d be spending it on dessert anyhow.

I saw that same story on the television news show I was watching! It was a gold spoon that I THINK the customer got to take home as a souvenier. And if I recall correctly is was served in a gold bowl, which I HOPE they got to take home too! Yeah, it was a lot of chocolate and gold leaf. Did you know that gold was edible and used in medicine to treat arthritis? Anyway, yeah that was an outrageously expensive food item! I’d never spend that much on ice cream OR chocolate!
